Nidec Control Techniques SI Safety Module programmable safety controller for use in safety trip circuits and other safety functions.
Intended Use:-
- In EMERGENCY STOP equipment.
- As a safety component, as defined in EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
- As a PES for risk reduction, as defined in EN 61508.
- In safety power circuits, in accordance with EN 60204-1 and EN 60204-32.
- As a PES for functional safety, as defined in EN 62061.
- As an SRP/CS, as defined in EN ISO 13849.
- As a device for producing the safety functions defined in EN 61800-5-2.
- As a logic unit for signal conversion and processing in two handed circuits, as defined in EN 574.
Allows a Unidrive M200 or M300 to communicate via RS485 using Modbus RTU for remote keypad or PC connection. (Not compatible with M100 or M101).
Mounting: The module attaches to the expansion port at the top of the drive.
Connection: Via an 8-pin RJ45 socket or 6-pin terminal block. Both include terminals for an external 24V DC power supply. This can power the drive control circuits, allowing parameters to be set or transferred without the main supply being present.
Safety Class: SIL 3 maximum in accordance with EN 61508 Cat 4, PL e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1:2006.
System Structure: Two channel with diagnosis (1oo2) in accordance with EN 61508, architecture category 4 in accordance with EN ISO 13849.
Configuration of operating mode ‘high demand’ in accordance with EN 61508 (high demand rate).
Probability of a potentially dangerous failure on an hourly basis (PFH figure), refer to the manual attached.
Proof Test Interval (EN 61508) 20 years, then the module needs to be replaced.
