The Siemens SINAMICS V20 is a compact, reliable, and cost-effective variable frequency drive (AC Inverter Drive) designed for simple speed control applications with standard AC induction (asynchronous) motors. V20 Keypad Functionality
The Keypad is fixed and has a 5 x 7 segment display with an indicator and operator keys. The SINAMICS V20 Keypad uses differing types of Keys across the range (Individual buttons or membrane) however the functionality is identical. At first glance, the keypad appears very simple; however, by holding buttons for a longer duration and using specific key combinations, the available functionality is significantly expanded; for example pressing the arrow up and arrow down at the same time will change direction. An additional Keypad (BOP) is available for panel mounting if required; please note that an additional interface module is also required to connect the Keypad (BOP) to the V20
V20 Control Terminals and Default Wiring Diagram
The V20 has spring mounted control terminals. There are 2 terminal arrangements depending on the rating however the functionality is identical across the V20 range.
When initially powered up the V20 is ready to operate from the keypad. This can be easily changed to remote control if required. Step by step details of how to do this is given in our Easy Start Guide
Siemens V20 Installation Requirements
All units are IP20 and must be mounted in a suitable enclosure with adequate ventilation. Any dust must be non-conducting otherwise this will damage the unit.
Siemens Accessories and Options
There is no option slot on the Siemens V20 but remote Keypads for door mounting and parameter loading modules are available
